This is Yemanya is an African goddess (also Yemanyé, is the Goddess of the oceans and the mother of all waters in African culture.
There are transformations in the representation of it depending on the African or Afro-descendant community that represents it.
Yemanya is represented by a very beautiful woman, with a dark complexion, hair as black as night, a light blue dress, a necklace of crystalline drops, and is the archetype of the mother of the oceans.
I wanted to honor this deity with an underwater representation full of ocean life. Her dress is a design by the wonderful Iris Van Herpen, whose work is based on nature and especially the oceans. I have completed this design with a living layer of a true underwater biostructure.
